In 1987, thirty-two artists collaborated to build this magical playground that Andre Heller, the creator, described as a “trip back into your own childhood.”
This short chronicles Luna Luna's creation — to being sold, locked up, shipped to the Texas desert and forgotten, until found in 2022. Through a blend of archival footage, interviews, social media, and self footage of the exhibit today, viewers will be transported to a magical wonderland through the eyes of artists like Basquiat, Haring and Dali. The Luna Luna masterpiece captures the heart and childhood wonder unseen for over 30 years.
